National 5-a-Side Football

Here are the Southern Area representatives at the National Five a Side
Football.
All the teams did extremely well gaining commendable places.
I must say all the Cadets did Southern Area proud with their
behaviour, team spirit and team effort.
Both finals were hard fought with the Senior Girls dipping out on
penalties 3 - 2 and the Senior Boys losing by one goal 1 - 0. Captain
Fry in his address, said he was very impressed and nearly lost his
voice by the cheering he was giving to both teams.
Junior Boys came a very impressive 4th after losing out to Northern by
2 goals to nil. (missing out on bronze). Junior Girls came a
commendable 5th.
I would also like to mention Gosport Unit for not only supplying and
manning the Nutty Bar which went down extremely well, but they also
supplied 6 Cadets for a working party. These 6 Cadets worked very hard
throughout the weekend mainly clearing up the mess left by other
Cadets on HMS Bristol and HMS Collingwood, these Cadets are
praiseworthy.
My final mention was the five Cadet PTI's from Southern Area who
seemed to be running around all weekend keeping the tournament
flowing. They too work very hard all weekend.
This was a very good tournament and enjoyed by all. It was truly a
Southern Area team effort.
