Area ET Challenge 2009

Sussex Novice Team Runners up
Thank you to all the COs and Districts who entered a team into the Area ET competition at the weekend. The cadets had a great time camping at Jon Perkins farm, orienteering around the Moors Valley Country Park and taking part in a variety of outward bound evolutions and stances, including some rock climbing, on theDorset coast. They all did exceedingly well and I was delighted to be able to present the medals, cup and shield yesterday lunchtime. A particular BZ goes to Sussex and Eastbourne Unit who were the winners but, in reality, all the participants were winners.

I would encourage more entries for next time as this is a great opportunity to get your cadets out in the fresh air and under canvas for a couple of nights.

Finally, as always, my thanks go to Lt Anderson, PO Anderson, Lt Thomson and the rest of the staff who assisted with the organisation and running of the weekend. Also, Jon Perkins who allows us to use the superb facilities at his farm down at Three Legged Cross near Ringwood as a base.
